Position Summary
Seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Business Planning Specialist to join the Sales Operations team in San Jose, California.
This position plays a critical role in supporting sales planning, budgeting, forecasting, business analysis, and strategic initiatives across the Americas region. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to transform business data into actionable insights while collaborating with both U.S. and Japan-based teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate sales and sales operations records, reports, and business data.
- Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual sales performance reports.
- Support sales forecasting, budgeting, and business planning activities.
- Consolidate and report sales forecasts, budgets, and business results to management and headquarters.
- Develop presentations, dashboards, and reports for management meetings and sales reviews.
- Collaborate with the sales team to monitor business performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer research to support strategic planning.
- Assist with marketing initiatives and business development projects.
- Analyze business processes and recommend operational improvements.
- Support cross-functional projects and other strategic initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in business planning, business analysis, sales operations, FP&A, or a related analytical role.
- Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English (written and verbal).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, and VBA.
- Experience using Power BI for reporting and data visualization.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Preferred
- Experience supporting a sales organization within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience with database management and business reporting systems.
