Our client, a well-established Japanese entertainment company is seeking a Licensing Sales Assistant to support its product licensing business in North America. This position will work closely with licensing managers and overseas headquarters, supporting licensing operations, account management, royalty reporting, design approvals, and merchandising programs. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Licensing Business Coordination

  • Support licensing managers with account management and deal execution
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for licensees and maintain day-to-day communications
  • Coordinate with overseas headquarters, licensees, and internal teams to ensure smooth business operations
  • Monitor sales transactions, approvals, documentation, and contract-related activities
  • Track accounts receivable, royalty payments, and closeout activities
  • Assist with marketing initiatives, promotional materials, and sales support activities
  • Proactively identify and address potential issues to minimize operational risks

Merchandising Licensing & Approval Coordination

  • Manage approval workflows, artwork development schedules, and product sample tracking
  • Coordinate artwork, style guides, and marketing assets between headquarters and licensees
  • Communicate regularly with licensees, agents, and overseas teams regarding approvals and project status
  • Support artwork development initiatives based on market trends and licensee needs
  • Ensure product quality and brand consistency throughout the approval process

Licensing Administration

  • Maintain project timelines and ensure deadlines are met
  • Organize and manage licensing documentation, including contracts, royalty reports, and approval records
  • Collect and analyze sales data, reports, statements, and product samples
  • Prepare reports and provide requested information to stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3+ years of experience in licensing, merchandising, sales support, account coordination, or related fields
  • Strong project management and multitasking abilities
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, including experience reviewing royalty reports, sales statements, and payment tracking
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-up skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator is a plus
  • Japanese language ability is a plus
