A well-established Japanese global trading company is seeking an Accountant to join its Accounting & Finance team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative international business environment while supporting accounting operations across multiple business units.<\/p>\n

Position Summary<\/h2>\n

The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger and supporting the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and experience working with ERP systems.<\/p>\n

This role works closely with internal departments to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/h2>\n
    \n
  • Maintain general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts, and profit & loss statements for assigned business units.<\/li>\n
  • Reconcile balance sheet and profit & loss accounts, including inventory, accounts payable, accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, and accruals.<\/li>\n
  • Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.<\/li>\n
  • Prepare and post journal entries.<\/li>\n
  • Review and process employee expense reports.<\/li>\n
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.<\/li>\n
  • Support daily cash management activities.<\/li>\n
  • Assist with internal control procedures and compliance initiatives.<\/li>\n
  • Support external and internal audits during quarterly and annual closing.<\/li>\n
  • Assist with forecasting and annual budgeting processes.<\/li>\n
  • Support regulatory and corporate compliance requirements.<\/li>\n
  • Prepare financial reports and analyses for management.<\/li>\n
  • Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Qualifications<\/h2>\n

    Required<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • Bachelor's degree <\/strong>in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.<\/li>\n
    • 1\u20134 years of General Ledger (G\/L) accounting <\/strong>experience.<\/li>\n
    • Understanding of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.<\/li>\n
    • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, <\/strong>and other analytical functions.<\/li>\n
    • Experience using SAP or another ERP system<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.<\/li>\n
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.<\/li>\n
    • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Preferred<\/h3>\n
        \n
      • Understanding of internal controls.<\/li>\n
      • Japanese language skills are a plus but not required.<\/li>\n
      • Experience working in an international or trading company environment is preferred.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
