About the Role<\/h2>\n

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Team Lead<\/strong> to oversee our Accounts Payable operations while supporting key accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance, and audit activities. This role combines hands-on accounting responsibilities with team leadership and process improvement initiatives, making it ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional looking to take the next step in their career.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/h2>\n

Accounts Payable Leadership<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Lead the daily operations of the Accounts Payable team.<\/li>\n
  • Supervise, train, and support accounting staff.<\/li>\n
  • Review invoices, ERP entries, and vendor payments for accuracy.<\/li>\n
  • Resolve payment issues and maintain strong vendor relationships.<\/li>\n
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and GAAP.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    General Accounting & Financial Reporting<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.<\/li>\n
    • Lead month-end and year-end closing activities.<\/li>\n
    • Prepare financial statements, forecasts, and management reports.<\/li>\n
    • Analyze financial trends and provide insights to support business decisions.<\/li>\n
    • Support accounting services for affiliated group companies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Tax & Compliance<\/h3>\n
        \n
      • Monitor sales and use tax compliance.<\/li>\n
      • Support annual income tax and transfer pricing documentation.<\/li>\n
      • Manage Form 1099 filings and assist with Form 1042 reporting.<\/li>\n
      • Stay current on accounting standards and tax regulations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Audit & Process Improvement<\/h3>\n
          \n
        • Lead annual financial audits and support internal\/external audit activities.<\/li>\n
        • Review work prepared by junior accounting staff.<\/li>\n
        • Recommend and implement improvements to internal controls, operational efficiency, and cost savings.<\/li>\n
        • Participate in special projects and cross-functional initiatives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Qualifications<\/h2>\n
            \n
          • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.<\/li>\n
          • 5+ years of Accounts Payable or related accounting experience.<\/li>\n
          • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is highly preferred.<\/li>\n
          • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.<\/li>\n
          • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.<\/li>\n
          • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.<\/li>\n
          • Experience with Microsoft Office; Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) is a plus.<\/li>\n
          • Japanese language proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking) is preferred.<\/li>\n
