A global manufacturer with a strong international presence is seeking a Senior Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst<\/strong> to join its growing finance organization in Irvine, California.<\/p>\n

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a newly established Management Accounting and Business Strategy team, partnering closely with executive leadership and headquarters in Japan to drive financial planning, business performance analysis, and strategic decision-making.<\/p>\n

Position Summary<\/h2>\n

The Senior FP&A Analyst will play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, profitability analysis, and business performance improvement. This position collaborates with cross-functional departments including Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and Accounting to provide financial insights that support business decisions.<\/p>\n

The successful candidate will have opportunities to participate in strategic initiatives, improve financial processes, and communicate directly with executive management and overseas headquarters.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/h2>\n

Financial Planning & Analysis<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Lead and support the annual budgeting process and ongoing budget management<\/li>\n
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts<\/li>\n
  • Perform Budget vs. Actual variance analysis and identify key business drivers<\/li>\n
  • Analyze financial performance, including revenue, COGS, gross margin, operating expenses, and operating income<\/li>\n
  • Conduct profitability analysis by customer, product line, business unit, and project<\/li>\n
  • Develop financial models and business analyses to support strategic initiatives<\/li>\n
  • Prepare executive-level financial reports and presentations<\/li>\n
  • Monitor KPIs and recommend actions to improve financial performance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Business Analysis & Cross-Functional Support<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • Partner with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and Accounting teams to support business planning<\/li>\n
    • Gather, consolidate, and analyze financial and operational data from multiple departments<\/li>\n
    • Identify operational and financial improvement opportunities<\/li>\n
    • Support cost reduction initiatives and profitability enhancement projects<\/li>\n
    • Improve management reporting processes and financial reporting accuracy<\/li>\n
    • Participate in cross-functional projects and continuous process improvement initiatives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Headquarters Reporting & Strategic Support<\/h3>\n
        \n
      • Prepare financial reports and business analyses for headquarters in Japan<\/li>\n
      • Support management reporting requests and financial planning activities<\/li>\n
      • Coordinate communication between U.S. operations and headquarters<\/li>\n
      • Assist with strategic projects and executive presentations as needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Qualifications<\/h2>\n

        Required<\/h3>\n
          \n
        • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field<\/li>\n
        • Minimum 3 years of experience<\/strong> in FP&A, Corporate Finance, Management Accounting, Financial Analysis, or Accounting<\/li>\n
        • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and variance analysis<\/li>\n
        • Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English<\/strong><\/li>\n
        • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis<\/li>\n
        • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills<\/li>\n
        • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Preferred<\/h3>\n
            \n
          • Manufacturing industry experience<\/li>\n
          • Medical device or healthcare industry experience<\/li>\n
          • Cost accounting or profitability analysis experience<\/li>\n
          • Experience supporting a Japanese headquarters or working within a Japanese company<\/li>\n
          • ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)<\/li>\n
          • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other Business Intelligence tools<\/li>\n
          • Experience participating in business process improvement initiatives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
