Position Summary<\/h3>\n

A Japanese television broadcasting company\u2019s Los Angeles branch is seeking a bilingual (English & Japanese, Spanish is a plus) Assistant Producer. This role supports various aspects of TV program production, including research, field coverage, coordination, and translation.<\/p>\n

The ideal candidate has a strong interest in journalism and current events, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and is willing to conduct fieldwork and occasional business travel. Entry-level candidates are welcome.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Support TV program production, including research, logistics coordination, filming assistance, and basic editing tasks<\/li>\n
  • Conduct research from unique and engaging perspectives through team collaboration<\/li>\n
  • Communicate and negotiate with interview subjects and external partners<\/li>\n
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external contacts to ensure smooth production<\/li>\n
  • Drive safely during field coverage assignments<\/li>\n
  • Translate news materials (English to Japanese and Japanese to English)<\/li>\n
  • Assist with online editing and other production-related tasks<\/li>\n
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Qualifications<\/h3>\n

    • Passion for journalism and television production<\/li>\n
    • Strong interest in current events, including:\n
        \n
      • U.S. national and local news<\/li>\n
      • Cultural and social trends<\/li>\n
      • U.S. politics<\/li>\n
      • News related to Japan, the U.S., and East Asia<\/li>\n
      • Japanese national news<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • Business-level English (spoken and written)<\/li>\n
      • Conversational-level Japanese (spoken and written)<\/li>\n
      • Willingness to drive a car and conduct fieldwork<\/li>\n
      • Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Preferred Skills (Plus)<\/h3>\n
          \n
        • Spanish language skills<\/li>\n
        • Video editing experience<\/li>\n
        • Basic knowledge of history or cultural anthropology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
