This role is responsible for managing purchasing operations and facilitating communication between our U.S.-based teams and our parent company in Japan. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Japanese and English, possess strong analytical and organizational skills, and have a working understanding of automotive quality systems and purchasing processes. This position is based at the manufacturing plant in White, Georgia.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong> include the following. Other duties may be assigned.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Independently manage purchasing for the Technical and Auto Parts QA departments.<\/li>\n<li>Negotiate contracts with third-party labor suppliers and oversee invoice processing.<\/li>\n<li>Lead the competitor tire purchasing process, including international coordination and logistics.<\/li>\n<li>Serve as the primary liaison between our U.S. Technical teams and the parent company in Japan.<\/li>\n<li>Translate and interpret technical documents and communications between Japanese and English.<\/li>\n<li>Provide support during international audits and meetings, including occasional travel to Japan, Taiwan, and Malaysia.<\/li>\n<li>Manage customer-facing technical document approvals and sensitive project communications.<\/li>\n<li>Host and coordinate visits from international vendors and expatriates.<\/li>\n<li>Support quality engineering efforts, including documentation and audit assistance.<\/li>\n<li>Additional duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word).<\/li>\n<li>Strong technical communication skills (oral &amp; written) in English and Japanese.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with purchasing processes and automotive quality standards.<\/li>\n<li>Exceptional attention to detail, discretion, and time management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION and\/or EXPERIENCE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Business Management, Business Administration, or Finance with a minimum of 5 years\u2019 experience translating\/interpreting tire or automotive industry technical content, and 5\u201310 years of professional experience.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>LANGUAGE SKILLS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos of a highly technical nature in both Japanese and English. Ability to write clear and concise correspondence in both Japanese and English. Ability to translate tire and automotive parts technical documents in Japanese and English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees of the organization in both Japanese and English.
