Financial Assistant Temporary Position

Location: Hybrid (New York City office – minimum 3 days onsite per week)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5 days/week, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM with some overtime

Pay Rate: $39–47/hour

Employment Type: Temporary (6–12 months), with the possibility of extension based on business needs

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Assistant to support the Treasury team with daily cash management and financial operations. This role involves payment processing, cash flow monitoring, bank reconciliations, and various treasury-related administrative functions.

We are looking for someone with strong analytical skills, advanced Excel proficiency, and the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement. Candidates who enjoy working with data, solving problems, and improving operational efficiency are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily treasury operations, including wire transfers, ACH payments, and check processing
  • Review and reconcile daily cash receipts and payment transactions
  • Prepare and maintain daily cash flow reports and monitor cash positions
  • Assist with monthly bank reconciliations
  • Analyze bank account activity and reconcile wire payments to ensure sufficient cash balances
  • Review bank account registration requests and verify supporting documentation
  • Assist with bank account maintenance, including account setup, authorized signer updates, and other cash management documentation
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation
  • Investigate and help resolve transaction discrepancies and other unusual items
  • Provide backup support for other team members and assist managers with various treasury projects
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing workflows and contribute to process improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, etc.)
  • Ability to analyze financial data and recommend process improvements
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Accounting, finance, treasury, or banking experience is a plus, but not required
  • Experience with cash management, reconciliations, or payment processing is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is preferred
  • Japanese language skills are a plus, but not required (if applicable)
