About the Role

We are seeking a Business Development Professional to join the Mineral Resources team in Vancouver. This position focuses on business development, market research, strategic partnerships, and technology scouting within the natural resources sector. Working closely with teams in Canada, Japan, and the United States, you will help identify new business opportunities, monitor emerging technologies, and support investment and business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

·      Support business planning and ongoing initiatives within the Mineral Resources team

·      Research market trends, emerging technologies, and industry developments related to mining, critical minerals, clean technology, AI, and decarbonization

·      Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, startups, and technology partners

·      Assist with due diligence activities for potential investments and strategic partnerships

·      Support relationships with business partners, government agencies, startups, and venture capital firms

·      Monitor existing investment activities and contribute to portfolio management

·      Prepare market research, industry analysis, and business reports for internal stakeholders

·      Collaborate with teams in Canada, Japan, and the United States to support cross-border business initiatives

·      Represent the company at industry events, conferences, seminars, and networking opportunities

Requirements

·      Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Science, or a related field

·      5+ years of business development or related professional experience, preferably within mining and mineral resources industries

·      Excellent English communication, report-writing, and presentation skills

·      Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to translate market insights into business opportunities

·      Japanese language skills and familiarity with Japanese business culture are considered a strong asset

·      Experience working with startups, venture capital, or investment activities is an asset

·      Ability to build relationships across multicultural and cross-functional teams

·      Willingness to travel within Canada and internationally, and openness to future relocation within North America if business needs arise

·      Valid driver's license
