Japanese governmental organizations seek a bilingual Japanese Project Assistant for their Trade Insurance Dept.
Title: Research Assistant
Employment Type: Temp; renew the contract annually for up to 3 years
Hourly Rate: $24.5
Work Location: Midtown, Manhattan *3 days office
Work Hours: 9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday
Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor, collect, and consolidate information on political and economic developments across the Americas (North, Central, and South America), and prepare summaries and internal communications.
- Support the preparation of various data materials and assist with promotional activities related to trade insurance programs and their utilization.
- Provide coordination and communication support with external vendors and service providers.
- Assist with general administrative tasks as needed, including internal schedule coordination, phone and visitor handling, appointment setting, and basic accounting or expense-related procedures.
Requirements:
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese, with the ability to read, translate, and communicate effectively via phone and email in both languages.
- Strong ability to organize collected information and produce clear, concise written reports in Japanese.
- Proficiency in basic business tools, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to proactively collaborate with supervisors and team members regarding tasks and workflow.
- A flexible and proactive team-oriented mindset, with the ability to support colleagues and respond to departmental needs as circumstances change.
