Position Summary

Our client, a rapidly growing Japanese restaurant franchise, is seeking an Area Manager / Assistant Manager to oversee multiple restaurant locations and support the company's nationwide expansion.

This role is ideal for an experienced restaurant leader who enjoys coaching managers, improving operations, and driving business performance. The successful candidate will manage approximately five locations while working closely with General Managers and executive leadership to ensure operational excellence and consistent customer satisfaction.

This position offers a clear career path toward a General Manager or senior leadership role as the company continues to expand throughout the U.S.

Key Responsibilities

Multi-Unit Operations Management

  • Oversee the operations and performance of approximately 5 restaurant locations
  • Coach, support, and develop General Managers and Store Managers
  • Monitor sales, profitability, labor, food costs, and overall business performance
  • Ensure consistent operational standards and customer service across all locations

Leadership & Business Development

  • Identify operational challenges and implement process improvements
  • Support new store openings and expansion projects
  • Assist with franchise (FC) operations and support as needed
  • Work closely with executive management on strategic initiatives and business growth

Team Development

  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop future restaurant leaders
  • Foster a positive, high-performance culture throughout the organization
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and operational standards

Qualifications

Required

  • Restaurant management experience required
  • Experience managing multiple locations strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills
  • Ability to analyze business performance and improve operations
  • Willingness to travel frequently
  • Flexible to relocate in the future if business needs require
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred

  • Experience with Japanese restaurants or Asian restaurant concepts
  • Experience supporting franchise operations
  • Japanese language skills are a plus but not required
